Led by an innovative revenue model, Vocoda establishes a mutually beneficial relationship between AI and voice artists. By redefining traditional buyout agreements, we ensure all parties thrive and artists are fairly compensated. We make voice artists part of our process, ensuring consent and transparency at every stage. This means voice artists have the ability to control how and when their voice is used — we define the terms and conditions together, always.

Frequently asked questions
How does Vocoda ensure that a digitised voice is only used for projects and content that a voice actor or contributor has agreed with?
Before a digitised voice can be used, we will set up a legal agreement with the respective voice actor. In this agreement, the actor can specify how their voice may be used, and which types of projects and content to exclude.
We can set up our AI models to use only voice data from a specific actor, ensuring that only that particular model is able to generate that particular voice. This gives us full control over where and how the voice gets used.
Can a digitised voice be modified, and how does that work?
Yes, a digitised voice can be manipulated in pitch, speed and volume to achieve the desired effects. Using text-to-speech, we can generate different variations based on specific prompts, while with speech-to-speech, we use an input voice to guide modifications. This gives us control over the quality and the tone, emotion and delivery style of the voice.
What happens if a company wants to use a digitised voice beyond the terms of the initial agreement?
Any company licensing your voice is bound by the terms outlined in the original legal agreement. If they wish to use your voice for purposes beyond what was initially agreed upon, a new agreement must be negotiated and established. This ensures your voice is used only within the scope of your consent.
Can anyone use a Vocoda digitised voice?
No, Vocoda is not a self-serve platform. All digitized voices are securely stored on our servers, and companies interested in using a specific voice must first obtain the actor’s explicit approval.
Should Vocoda transition into a self-serve platform in the future, we would require explicit consent from voice artists and contributors to include their voices in the platform's database.
How does Vocoda ensure that the AI voice models are not trained on copyrighted material?
We keep track of which voice data are part of our models and when required can demonstrate what data we use to train our AI models.
How does Vocoda ensure its digitised voices are securely stored, even if legislation is unclear?
Our AI technology is developed in-house, and all digitised voices are stored exclusively on our secure servers. This ensures that your voice is protected, regardless of whether comprehensive legislation is currently in place. We are committed to ensuring your voice data is safe.
